We’ve returned home with our SuperCal and are ready to get them planted! -When planting in-ground, space SuperCal according to the tag instructions or an average of 12” apart (center to center). In baskets or containers, use multiple plants for a fuller look!
-Once planted, You may apply a slow-release fertilizer at the recommended rate by scratching into the top of the soil.
-Always water in your SuperCal after planting. SuperCal will require more water while they establish - A light mulching can help retain moisture....

Spring is here! Planning or already planted, we are going to be serving up some helpful tips and insight to give you the best success with SuperCal Petunias Lets start with prepping your beds or containers! Before you begin, consider the weather. Plant after the last frost of Spring - typically Late April to May, depending on your region. A good rule to follow is the wait until night temps are 55 or above before planting. • Location, location, location! Will you be planting in the ground, or in containers? Be sure to select an area in full-sun - SuperCal love to bask! • If planting in the ground, prepare your bed(s) by cleaning debris and weeding the area. If you have some snazzy planters, prep them by getting them in place and adding new soil to the top! • Consider your soil condition. Heavy, clay-based soils retain excess moisture and may limit aeration of the roots, leading to a weak plant. If needed, amend soil with organic matter (peat, compost, etc). • Determine how many plants you’ll need. For mass plantings in landscapes, SuperCal petunias should be planted at an average of 14” apart center to center. Be sure to check the plant tag for spacing recommendation, as some varieties require more or less spacing. For large planters, use 3 – 5 plants per pot for a full look.
Your bed is ready to plant, you have a plan! Tune in next week for selection and planting tips.

We`re ready to load them up and get them in the ground! 🌸☀️
Why buy any other petunia?! SuperCal bounces back quick after rain, without the dramatic drooping seen with standard petunias. Their tough flowers lack the characteristic stickiness of petunia flowers, offer greater disease resistance and phenomenal color for 3 seasons. You`ll be sure to love them in your garden this year!!
